getting back to normal

Sometimes when things are busy I get a bit gruff. I lose myself among the laundry and chaos that comes with having a gaggle of kids. After a time I resurface and feel guilty for letting myself fall prey to negativity. The truth is I love being a mother and wife. I even love the laundry.
After spending three days performing "Summer/Winter Clothing Swap of Fall 2009" I was down to my last pile of clothes that perhaps have been passed through one kid too many when Molly excitedly tried on a well worn pair of red sneakers. It was at this moment I felt profound love for her...for motherhood. I watched her for a few minutes prancing around outside until I grabbed my camera and invaded her imaginative play. Little things make me happy...it's just being able to recognize them that is hard.

The other night when Ken was crazy drunk (a joke) he was telling me how nice it was of you to leave such nice words for him. Seriously he did say all this and wishes to send you a big Thank You. I thank you, too.

What a sweet post. I remember my boys passing clothes down to each other and wearing stuff out along the way. Lots of laundry back then!
Your husband deserves our thanks and praise for what he is doing for our country...which means it's for each and every one of us! I am very proud to know you through our blogs and your sweet family.

You know what? I needed to read this. Maybe I need to open my eyes to the sweeter moments more often. Thanks for writing this. I know it is not always like this, and motherhood can be so frustrating nowadays, but sometimes.....not often.....but sometimes.....we do feel like we are doing the right thing, dont we?

I agree completely, it is so hard to recognize these moments when you're so busy with "life". But it is so nice when one finds you. I, too, have been going through the annual clothing purge :) Have a great day.

Thanks for this lovely post. I can really relate to the feelings you expressed. I try every day to see something new, something funny, to see and appreciate the natures of each of my children. They aren't kids for long and even when I feel sad or tired I am loving them all and holding them close to my heart. I love those crazy tights and the joy of your daughter in her new (old)shoes xo
