Saturday morning odd jobs

020

Red loves me.  It’s a nice feeling for a horse to love you.  Especially when you are an awkward shy person like myself.  And I love Red right back, in fact I love this dern horse so much it hurts my heart.

022

I love everything about him.  He listens to everything I say…really he does.  I blab away to him about all the trivial things in my human life and he kind of gets a humble stance, not a bored humble stance, nor one that says okay when you are done telling me all this mundane junk can I have an apple biscuit?

Red was given to us by a neighbor who had received him from a friend of a friend.  He wasn’t well taken care of and truthfully he was kind of a punk.  He wasn’t sure what to make of all the kids and instead of accepting our love he became rebellious and like a crotchety old man.  But now nearly three years later he is my lovey bear of a horse.

029

I kiss his velvety nose  and love the sounds he makes as he munches on his morning grain.  He trusts me and I trust him.

025

I am certain he trusts me because he willingly let me give him a haircut-which is unheard of in this house.  He has bangs now.  And he looks ridiculous.  In fact I can’t even look at him without laughing.

If giving your horse bangs isn’t an odd job, I am not sure what is.

This is such a sweet post. i never had a horse love and trust me and I can imagine it's just as sweet as a puppy or a kittens love. he's a lucky horse to have found his way to such a loving home. if you were closer I'd have you trim my daughters bangs. Nice job!

Oh, I can relate to you. Red has managed to wind himself in you and through you. My favorite picture is of his nose and the second one is of his bangs. Gosh...warm cozy cute Red reminds me of my pom dog Sadie Mae. I love her pure white fur with soft pink skin under it all and pink paws. Her little round brown eyes seem to love me so unconditionally. She's a baby to me...and I fondly admit it. Long live the animals that bring us such comfort and joy. LOVE this post!

He's so cute. It's neat that you are close to your horse. They're smart animals. Sorry I've kind of been out of it lately. I hope you are well :)

Oh Red is adorable! I'm so glad he lives with you and that he is no longer with the people who did not treat him well. It sounds like you needed each other.

He is darling. And I know horse love. It can rip your heart out. Be careful! ♥ But Red looks sturdy! Like he's going to be here forever. I want to kiss his nose, too. You're a lucky cowgirl! ;)
