Sew More

Lately I have had a thirst to sew. I spend more time figuring out what to make than I do actually sewing and sometimes that is just as much fun.

001

A bias trimmed apron out of some of my favorite fabric. I think it’s an American Jane print.

002

Unlike the corduroy vest I recently posted about these overalls from the same fabric have no secrets. And I realize they might be a bit geeky but Henry is four and can still get away with a little geeky/cute.

I’m hoping for his sake I realize when geeky/cute is just geeky.

My kids had very definite ideas about clothes from a very early age...And I let them. Which resulted in me not being able to dress them in stuff like this. Of course, they are girls, so that limits it too! However, I had a friend who dictated everything her kids wore...And they always looked adorable! With any luck you'll have this influence over Henry for quite a while...

Oh, and I'd say 6. Six would be the cut off for geeky/cute. And i base that solely on the mean comments I've heard my kids tell me they heard at school.

Remember Home Alone? "A kid could beat up for that!"

Wait! But just so y'know...I don't think those overalls are geeky at all...I just read my comment and feared it came off that way!

I love your apron. I was just thinking about an apron similar to this. How it would be nice to have a couple of them with big pockets to wear around while doing house work.

Ha...I think we need to create a American Kate print and a Canadian Jacqueline print. Jane takes the cake with vintage cute but we are just as cute!

Thanks for visiting me over in the Fairyland. I extend a warm welcome for you to sew up some cute stuff for my shop.

I know with all your kidlets, it may be a far fetched adventure but please remember the invitation. It always stands in place for you Kate.

First let me say that Molly is precious! What a sweetheart she is in her cute outfit! And the overalls are precious! Of course I LOVE the apron. I don't like the pull of a string around my neck so I need to make myself another apron soon. Oh...back to boys! My kids are YOUR age and now they say...why didn't you just buy us BLUE jeans! Why did you buy RED jeans to match striped shirts and BROWN jeans to match whatever...and I think there were some GREEN jeans in there somewhere that someone resented! I just LAUGH! hahaha!!! I'm SORRY boys! lol

the little overalls remind me of Amish boys. It would be so cute to take a pic of your little guy running through the grass barefoot with his brown overalls on!
nice job
