a market bag

006

I recently read that the reusable bags I bought at the commissary contain lead. What do I do with them?  Should I throw them out?  The stores will take them back but they will most likely throw them out as well.

Feeling optimistic I took out my vintage sheets and told myself I would cut out five bags.    Thankfully I only cut out one as I think I made more mistakes making this bag that anything else I have ever made.  It was almost funny.

Anyhow it turned out okay, but I’m going to come up with a plan B as I think I would cry if I had to make four more.

There is something nice about sewing with vintage sheets.  Check out this tutorial page on this blog, there’s some really cute ideas. I hope your week is off to a good start!

I love the pretty color and cute design! I've made a few bags...and I would like something simple the next go round, too! ♥

Wow that is cute! Why can't they make cute sheets anymore? Maybe I just shop at the wrong places, but they don't make 'em like they used to. Seriously LEAD in a bag? They must have had to try pretty hard to get it in there!

That is so cute! I think you should make lots! ;) Sometime when I start a Craft, I think--I will make lots and sell them. Partway through, I think--I will make one for each of my family members for gifts. My next thought--I will make two of these--one for me and one for a gift. Then I think--If I ever finish this it will be a miracle and I will keep it and treasure it and no amount of money could repay the pain and suffering and angst I have had in the creation.

That was some sheet! Very pretty colors, and very nice as a bag.

Maybe you could line your fallout shelter with the bags...weird.
