A tweed hat

A condensed version of why I made a tweed hat:

I read a book (which was kind of depressing fyi).

029

I loved the tweed hat on the cover.

030

I made a boy version for my own boy with soft fleece lining because we all know how long an itchy wool hat would last on a small boy of three.

016

I had to revise it many times because his head is huge.  Like really big.  So big that each time he has a physical they measure it and measure it again.

So in conclusion:  I made a hat for a boy with a melon head.

The End

HA! What a wonderful hat. You are so talented. My oldest daughter's head has been in the 90th percentile since birth. My sister-in-law, who is 5 years older than me and started having kids after I did, says to me when my daughter was only about 2 months old and I was still very new at the whole mothering thing, "Man her head is SO big!". I'll never forget it. Maybe that's why we have trouble getting along :P

I know what you mean b/c all my kids have melon heads too, on account of their father has an enormous head.

Cute hat! How fun to dress you kids up like you want to! By the way, The hair clip is for those steamy moments in the kitchen when you burn the beans or have unexpected company! What else???

Ah...gosh...so sweet. You amaze me with your ambition and handy work. You live your life out loud and I love that about you. Never afraid to try something new.

I love Kat's take on giving birth to Josh: "I don't care how much he weighs - HOW BIG WAS HIS HEAD?"

He is so cute, big head and all. (Which, btw, didn't look all that big to me, and I'm sure he'll grow into it, etc. etc.) I bought a men's herringbone wool coat at the thrift store recently for the fabric - I was thinking fall purse. I don't think I'd look nearly as cute in that hat.
